GIS/CAD Operator

Role Description
We are hiring a full-time, on-site GIS/CAD Operator for one of our clients in Abu Dhabi. This role involves managing geographical data, creating and updating maps, and integrating GIS (Geographic Information Systems) with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems. As a GIS/CAD Operator, you will ensure that data is accurate, up-to-date, and secure, playing a pivotal role in supporting the company’s marine and geophysical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management:
- Collect, process, and manage geographical data from various sources.
- Maintain and update spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Map Creation and Updating:
- Create, modify, and update maps for various projects using GIS and CAD software.
- Convert raw data into meaningful maps and reports for analysis and decision-making.
- Integration of GIS with CAD Systems:
- Develop and maintain workflows for integrating GIS data with CAD systems.
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure seamless data integration.
- Data Accuracy and Security:
- Implement and follow best practices for data accuracy and security.
- Monitor and maintain data integrity, ensuring that all GIS/CAD data is secure and compliant with company standards.
- Reporting and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to gather data requirements and provide GIS/CAD support.
- Prepare and present reports on data analysis, map creation, and system integration to management and other stakeholders.
- Cybersecurity Best Practices:
- Apply cybersecurity measures in managing GIS/CAD operations, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and practices relevant to GIS/CAD.
Qualifications:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to process and interpret complex geographical data.
- Information Management Expertise: Proficiency in managing and organizing large datasets.
- Information Technology Expertise: Solid understanding of IT systems and their application in GIS/CAD operations.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively for collaboration, reporting, and presenting data.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity: Awareness of cybersecurity best practices, particularly in GIS/CAD environments.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in using GIS and CAD software, including but not limited to ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the marine or geophysical industry is a plus.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
