Senior Yard Engineer

We are hiring for one of our clients from the retail industry, looking for an experienced Senior Yard Engineer to lead and manage yard activities. This role is crucial for overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and coordinating various activities across departments.

About the Job:

As a Senior Yard Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing contract documentation to assess feasibility and identify resource needs. You’ll assist in developing and optimizing project plans to ensure smooth execution. Your technical expertise will be critical in reviewing engineering drawings and ensuring conformance to contract requirements.

You will coordinate with different departments to streamline integration and minimize delays. Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring adherence to the project’s scope are key tasks. Additionally, you’ll prepare work progress reports, monitor milestones, and resolve any issues with the collaboration of senior colleagues.

This role involves providing technical guidance to Yard Engineers, liaising with clients, and ensuring vendor deliverables are met on time. You will also be involved in verifying invoice accuracy, coordinating with certification agencies, and preparing final project documentation.

Responsibilities Include:

• Reviewing contract documentation and ensuring resource availability
• Developing project planning packages for optimized execution
• Coordinating with other departments to minimize delays
• Monitoring subcontractor performance
• Managing construction activities to ensure projects meet schedule and quality standards
• Supervising Yard Engineers and providing technical advice
• Liaising with client counterparts and following up on approvals
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, integrity, and HSE standards

Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 10 years of construction management experience, with expertise in fabrication shops
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
