Are you an experienced Instrument Technician ready to enhance machinery efficiency in Dubai? We are hiring for a crucial role where you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of instrument and control systems. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Description: As an Instrument Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain optimal operation of machinery and equipment with minimal downtime. You will perform both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, diagnose and troubleshoot system failures, and ensure adherence to safety and maintenance protocols. Your role will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance Tasks: Respond to breakdowns and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks efficiently. Use minimal supervision to ensure production downtime is minimized.
  • Equipment Handling: Assess job requirements, select appropriate tools and equipment, and complete maintenance tasks effectively. Perform equipment calibrations as required.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with instrument and control systems. Resolve breakdowns and failures swiftly to maintain operational continuity.
  • Documentation: Utilize the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to manage spare parts orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in initiatives like Suggestion Schemes, 5S, and Kaizen to improve EHS standards and plant performance. Report abnormalities and participate in equipment repairs.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to new instrument mechanics, ensuring they understand plant operations and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Diploma in a relevant field and completion of PEC Craft Training.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a smelter or heavy industrial environment is preferred. Entry-level candidates with PEC Training will also be considered.
  • Skills: Proficient in English, familiar with maintenance tools, basic computer skills, and experience in installation and calibration. Ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of PLC control systems are essential.
